and her husband, Kevin Baxter, welcomed their first son, Ephraim Gray
Goodwin Baxter, on October 27, 2007, one day shy of their first wedding
anniversary. They reside in Somerville, MA, where Leah is working as a
freelance editor, writer, and proofreader after her graduation from
Harvard Divinity School in June 2007. Kevin is the pastor at Swedenborg
Chapel, just outside Harvard Yard. Leah is in the ordination process for
the American Baptist Church in the USA, and plans to be ordained within
the year.

Masha Herbst '96
left her journalism job in Alaska in 2004 to join the Foreign Service. Not
long after moving to Armenia in 2005, she met her fiance, Jeremy Richart.
They will be married this fall, just in time to enjoy a one-year,
all-expenses-paid honeymoon on the U.S. Embassy compound in Kabul,
Afghanistan.
Pete Thomas '88E
returned to Northern Virginia after a few years away in New Jersey. He now
lives near Hillsboro, VA--and therefore not near much of anything else--with
his wife Pam Ochs, and son, Quinn, age 7.
Adriane Randolph (Davis)
'95 graduated in
May 2007 with her PhD in Business Administration - Computer Information
Systems from Georgia State University and begins as an Assistant Professor
of Business Information Systems Management at Kennesaw State University in
August 2007. She was featured in the
May 2007 issue of Entrepreneur magazine for her interests in providing
biometric interface systems for individuals in assisted living facilities.
She married in December 2004 and currently resides in Atlanta with her
husband and two dogs.
Aashoo Tandon '99
is currently living in Bethesda and doing research in the Neurogenetics
Branch of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke at NIH,
as part of a year away from medical school through the HHMI-NIH Research
Scholars (Cloister) Program. He will be heading back to Ann Arbor, MI, in
July 2007 to finish the fourth year of medical school.
Keely Tolley Roen '94
and her husband Garrett had their second son, Julian Christopher, in April
2007. Their first son, Jude Thomas, is three and a half years old. Keely
teaches Wildlife Management at Penn State where her husband is an Admissions
Counselor.
John DeWeese '96
graduated from the University of Southern California with a Masters in
Computer Science. He now lives in the San Francisco bay area and works as a
game programmer.
Kyra Williams '94
began work in obstetrics and gynecology this summer at the Princeton
Hospital and at a private practice in the area. Her husband, Josh
Shapiro, is working on a post doc in evolutionary biology at Princeton
University.

have been selected as one of this year’s recipients of the Frederick E.
Terman Award for Scholastic Achievement in Engineering. This most
selective award is based on overall academic performance and is
presented to 5% of each year seniors at Stanford University. A very
special part of this award is the recognition of the secondary school
teacher who the student names as having most influenced their scholastic
career. Cheek named Bettie Stegall and Duffy named Barbara Nelson, who
were both flown out to celebrate with the awards in May.
David Banh '04
has been featured in
an article in the ACBL Bridge Bulletin entitled, “King David, David Banh
is the 2005 King of Bridge.” He had been a driving force behind the
re-organization of the TJ 8th period Bridge Club. He now holds the rank
of NABC Master, and also serves on the Northern Virginia Unit board as
the youth representative. He is now a freshman at the University of
Virginia.

has earned his PhD in
engineering sciences from Harvard University. This fall he starts at
ExxonMobil in northern Virginia.
Patrick Kelly '02
is a third year finance major at the University of Virginia and will be
inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society for placing within the top
7% of UVA's McIntire School of Commerce. Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest
national scholastic recognition UVA can offer for business students and is
the equivalent to Phi Beta Kappa awarded to the top A&S students. Pat has
also completed his third season as a starting forward for the UVA ice hockey
team which was #1 in the ACCHL this season.
Sloane Kuney '02
will pursue a Master of Arts in Design from the Corcoran College of Art and
Design in DC beginning in May 2005, when she graduates from the University
of Virginia after finishing an English degree in three years.

Year in front of 80,000 people on Parents' Weekend at the football game in

Fund to produce a DVD recently sent to all parents showcasing Jefferson.
Don Halcombe '92
has been promoted to director, communications for the TLC cable network. In
his new role, Halcombe will develop and implement publicity campaigns and
initiatives for TLC. He will create national and local TLC brand publicity
initiatives. Previously, he oversaw all communications for TLC’s hit series
Trading Spaces.
Erin (Kennedy) Weinland '93
has earned her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern
University. She has accepted an expatriate position in Oxford, England as a
Director of Client Service for ACNielsen BASES.

became the Executive Chef at Mastro's Steakhouse in Beverly Hills (right

Rockefeller Universities in NYC. She has had two scientific publications
recently.
Brandy Brooks '94
has just begun her second
summer of teaching high school students about the use of digital media as
presentation tools in architectural design. The program takes place at the
Boston
Architectural Center, where Brandy is in her 3rd year of study toward a
Master of Architecture. She is also serving on the student government and
several other boards and committees at the BAC.

a huge loss to the TJ community, as Sasha was one of the most bright and
lively girls to grace the halls of Jefferson and had an immense amount of

several letters from classmates of Christie expressing their sympathy of her
passing back on December 22, 2002. Their cards were greatly appreciated and
it was wonderful to hear from people that knew Christie while she was at TJ
and remind us why she was special and will not be forgotten. I had the great
fortune of knowing Christie for the past thirteen years and was married to
her for seven. Thank you to all those who have had Christie in their
thoughts over the past several months.
