December 23rd, 2008: XMAS Mini-Reunion '08
Anyone in or around Northern Virginia for Christmas 2008 should come to a mini-reunion celebration on Friday December 26th at a bar/lounge in Arlington (one block away from Ballston Metro stop) called "Front Page". See the Event page for details! We look forward to see everyone there, including all the TJers who couldn't attend the Thanksgiving reunion!
November 29th, 2008: Thanksgiving Reunion '08
All three reunion events completed successfully! Thanks to all who helped organize them, and especially to everyone who showed up :)
November 12th, 2008: TIX DEADLINE & Update
A reunion update from Di and Trevor repeated here
The reunion is shaping up very nicely. Thanks to all of you who have already purchased your tickets. The deadline for ticket sales is now set for FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21! We will need a final headcount by then, so please buy your tickets as soon as possible. Not sure which ticket to buy? Well, may we suggest the $98 package deal? It gives you the most bang for your buck and allows us to see your smiling faces as much as possible! A bunch of classmates are flying cross-country to attend the best 10-year reunion TJ has ever seen, so be sure to do your part and join in the fun.
In other exciting news, Mr. Goudeaux is doing his best to attend as many events as possible! We've also got a nice lineup of teachers who plan to come to the school event. Thanks to everyone who made an effort to contact former teachers. They've all been thrilled to be invited. As for the agenda, Mrs. Groves will be discussing how the school has changed around 11:30AM on Saturday morning, and Gary Bottorff from the TJ Partnership Fund will be speaking about the work his group does. Before and after, everyone will be free to mingle and see the school, so it should be a great time all around.
Just an FYI - renting out the TJ facilities does cost a bit of money, so if you're ONLY planning to come to that, we'd really appreciate you throwing a dollar or two in a hat when we're there to help defray those costs. It's not necessary, but it would be most helpful.
We hope you can make it! Don't worry, we'll be circling back to nag you again, and here's one more nag before we sign off: Get, give and be...your reunion ticket.
Sincerely,
Di and Trevor
October 29th, 2008: Photos are up
Five photos are live! We'll be rotating through our stock of photos as the reunion draws nigh. Enjoy :)
October 16th, 2008: Website/payment changes
More details have been added to the tickets-purchasing page and to the events pages for bar night, the tj picnic, and the main event. You can now pay by cheque by asking Di for those details, and there is more detailed information available about each of our three scheduled events.
October 5th, 2008: Buy tickets online
Online ordering is available on the Tickets page using Google Checkout and your favorite credit card.
September 19th, 2008: Website goes live
After many revisions David Thompson and Mark Feghali complete the first public version of the Reunion homepage. More functionality will be added over the next few weeks as time permits. If anyone has images to share for the website, feel free to contact us!
August 23rd, 2008: Invite favorite teachers
There will be an event on Saturday November 29th at TJHSST some time during the day. Anyone who's in touch with former teachers is welcome to invite them! Once the time and location are set in stone we'll let everyone know.
June 30th, 2008: Hotel rooms available
We've reserved a block of hotel rooms (for both Friday and Saturday nights) at the Westin available for $129 per night, including overnight valet parking.
June 5th, 2008: Main event booked
The reunion committee (heretofore known as the RC) is excited to announce we'll be having our "main event" festivities at the Westin Arlington Gateway in Arlington, VA on Saturday, November 29, 2008! The hotel is about a five-minute walk from the Ballston Metro stop on the Orange Line. The party will be held from 8PM-12AM in the F. Scott Fitzgerald Ballroom and will feature an open bar and hors d'oeuvres.
Class of 1998 makes history
The President of the Alumni Association has never been contacted by class members about an upcoming reunion; it's always been the other way around. Cheers to Di and Trevor for their hard work! Let's set a record by bringing together the greatest number of alumni in TJ reunion history!
